Diego Arimany, ALM in Government

The world is my country and it's yours too. This is why we need healthy communities everywhere.

Quick Background

I'm a native Guatemalan and I've been able to work and study in three continents. This experience provided me with 35 years of involvement in community service.
I believe that an individual can achieve big, harry, and audacious goals (B.H.A.Gs) when not alone. That's why I am passionate about empowering individuals to create positive change.

My experience started in high school by in engaging teachers and students (from different schools) to find newer ways of impacting our future community. This drive continued through undergrad, grad school, and as a professional. My volunteer work in Guatemala, deepened my understanding of diverse cultural contexts and the challenges faced by all sorts of populations.
A 20 year career, from consulting partner to director at the Inter-American Development Bank, immersed me on a wide range of development projects, stemming from energy initiatives to city planning or from educational programs to regulatory compliance.

With this I also learned that our influence must we wield in upholding the dignity of others.

What I Bring to the Table

The skills sharpened through my experience are:

Vision

As Director of Community and Public Service, I am eager to foster a collaborative environment where students can engage with their peers and HES faculty and leverage their current courses to begin impacting their communities.

My primary goal is to drive a community outreach project that is directly inspired by the innovative ideas of HES students.
Thus empowering students to take ownership of their community engagement efforts, and creating a meaningful and impactful experience.
Seeking to inspire student engagement by creating a dynamic and inclusive environment with the collaboration of other student government directors.

Thank You

I am confident that my ability to inspire, collaborate, and drive positive change will make a valuable contribution to your team...
but none of these is possible without your support.
